Plus I dont usually do these kind of things. I apologize if I dummed that down too much, I just wanted to make sure everyone was able to fix their game without too much confusion. Congrats, now you can play Skyrim the way it was ment to be played! Follow the steps for the next section again. Back in your SkyrimSE dirctory, select SkyrimSELauncher. After that simply click apply, then select Add again. In my case, the processor was called "High-performance Nvidia processor". On the second section's pull down tab, select your Nvidia processor, do NOT choose Global Settings. You will have to navigate your way to your SkyrimSE directory (whereever you installed it). Near the middle of the screen click the Add button. On the left side of the control panel select Manage 3D settings. Search on the Start menu for Nvidia Control Panel and wait for it to load. Congrats, you can finally play Skyrim how it was ment to be played!įIX#2: If you tried the first fix, but when right clicking on SkyrimSE.exe, the section Run WIth Graphics Processor wasnt listed, then this should provide a work around. Right click on SkyrimSELauncher and follow the steps above again. Simply select apply, then return to your SkyrimSE directory. For me it was titled "High-performance Nvidia Processor". Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" On the pull down tab, select your Nvidia driver, NOT the Global Settings. Browse Local FIles (I believe it is called anyways) to pull up your SkyrimSE directory.įind SkyrimSE.exe and right click it, go to Run With Graphics Processor, then click on the bottom tab Change Default Graphics Driver.Īfter the Nvidia Control Panel loads (its a little slow sometimes) go to the part marked as "2. Try running it without mods and see if the flickering goes away.įIX#1: On Steam go to your SkyrimSE and right click it. These fixes may still work on a desktop set up, but the issue could also be due to mods. Specifically, the CPU had intergrated graphics, and it was using that rather than using the GPU. There are two ways to get around this, try FIX#1, and if it dosnt seem to match up to what you are seeing, try FIX#2 (a little bit longer, but has the same results.)ĮDIT: This is an old post, however it appears that me from three years ago forgot to mention that this issue happened on a laptop, not a desktop. I deleted the Skyrim folder in My Games, and tried playing the now clean game, I didn't subscribe to any mods in the workshop, so that leaves my graphics driver. The problem seems to stem from SkyrimSE wanting to run on your Intel card, rather than your Nvidia processor. I deleted it through steam and then installed again by clicking "install" on steam, which then downloaded the game again. You have workshop mods that are installing because they are not unsubscribed. You are using mods, on a clean install, and its the mods causing the issue.ģ. You are using a backed up skyrim settings.ini file in your My Docs folder. DO: After that, I re-installed Skyrim to a completely different driveHow are you re-installing Skyrim? I gots to ask, but are you allowing STEAM to download a fresh copy, or are you re-installing from a custom backup?ġ.
